St. Simons Island

We spent a long weekend at St. Simons Island, and had such a great time!  It was so nice to get away for a few days and turn off our phones, computers, etc. and just enjoy the beauty around us and being together.  St. Simons has really become one of our favorite places!  It doesn’t have the most beautiful beaches or bluest sparkling waters, but it is just such a peaceful, laid back, and relaxing place.

Elise wasn’t so fond of the water, but she loved crawling on the sand and managed to eat her fair share of it as well.

Audrey loved picking up the sand and then being able to instantly wash it off (she’s one of those weird kids that likes to be clean).

Audrey trying to convince Elise that the water isn’t so bad:

One of our favorite things was walking down to the pier each morning to get a cup of coffee and letting the girls play on the playground.  That’s what I call a “win-win”!

We also spent a lot of time at the pool in our condo complex.  The girls loved it!

I absolutely love watching these two as they become little buddies.  When they are in the double stroller now, I often look down and Audrey will have her arm around Elise like this.  Here she is pointing out the ducks in the pond to Elise.  She’s such a good big sister, and loves Elise!

It was such a great weekend, and we managed to pack a lot of fun and memories into a few days.  This was the scene on our way home:

Audrey’s 2!!!

I can’t believe that my baby girl is 2 already!!!  Where did the time go?  We had several of her friends (and our friends) over to celebrate, and had a great time.

Here are the girls during the “pre-party”.  You can see the anticipation of good times on Audrey’s face.

Once the food hit the table, Audrey new it was game time!

And then, of course, there was the pre-game melt down.  She is two after all.

Here she is flashing her “I’m two” gang sign.

My very favorite picture from the party is this one.  Check out how she’s licking her lips as she’s sizing up the cake!  Love that!

Who doesn’t enjoy a good juice box?

Who needs entertainment when you have Andrew around?

My parents came down to celebrate with us too.  They drove 18 hours to be here for only a day and a half…now that’s the love of a grandparent!

So fun to get to hang out with some of our friends and family, and celebrate our sweet girl!
